Expand Your Capabilities.
Advance Your Aviation Goals.
An Instrument Rating can expand how you use your pilot certificate—whether you fly for personal travel, aircraft ownership or are building toward a professional aviation career.

How Instrument Rating Training Works
Your training combines instrument knowledge, procedural proficiency and aircraft training, organized around your experience, goals and training pace.

1. BUILD YOUR TRAINING PLAN
Review your current experience, flight time, goals and schedule with Endeavour to build an Instrument Rating training path around where you are today.
2. DEVELOP YOUR IFR KNOWLEDGE
Build your understanding of instrument procedures, weather, navigation, regulations, flight planning and decision-making for IFR operations.
3. TRAIN IN THE IFR ENVIRONMENT
Develop instrument scan, aircraft control, navigation, approaches, holding procedures, ATC communication and workload management with your instructor.
4. PREPARE FOR YOUR INSTRUMENT CHECKRIDE
Refine your instrument proficiency, complete the applicable training requirements and prepare for the FAA Instrument Rating practical test.
Your pace may vary based on your schedule, training frequency, prior experience, weather and individual progress.
What You Need to Get Started
Instrument training builds on your existing pilot experience. Endeavour can review your certificates, logbook, recent experience and goals to help determine the right training path for you.

1. HOLD OR BE PURSUING THE APPROPRIATE PILOT CERTIFICATE
Instrument Rating applicants must meet the applicable FAA eligibility requirements for the rating sought.
2. REVIEW YOUR FLIGHT EXPERIENCE
Bring your logbook and training records so Endeavour can evaluate your current experience and identify what training remains.
3. BUILD YOUR INSTRUMENT TRAINING PLAN
Your plan can be structured around your experience, schedule, training frequency and whether you are following a Part 61 or Part 141 path.
4. BEGIN IFR KNOWLEDGE & FLIGHT TRAINING
Develop instrument knowledge, procedures and flight proficiency while preparing for the FAA knowledge and practical test requirements.
Already have instrument experience or previous IFR training? Endeavour can review your records and help identify the appropriate next step.
